LUBBOCK, Texas – Wichita State fought hard, but ultimately lost to Texas Tech on Saturday, 4-0 at Lubbock Country Club.
The Shockers (2-5) remain winless against Texas Tech (2-1) in the all-time series with the defeat. The result was much closer than the 4-0 score would indicate, but the Red Raiders held on to win multiple tight matches.
In doubles, Texas Tech struck quickly, taking court No. 1 over and , 6-2. The Red Raiders secured the doubles point with a narrow 6-4 victory over and at No. 2.
In singles, Texas Tech pressed the advantage by taking the first set on three of the four active singles courts.
