With Leivo having to clear waivers prior to being assigned to the Toronto Marlies, will he now get more action in the NHL? It’s hard to say, but it’s worth taking note that the following young players vying for a roster spot are waiver exempt:
Leivo’s deal makes it much more logistically friendly to simply demote as many of the above six as they need without putting Leivo at risk of being claimed.
