The Seattle Sounders are in the middle of a rare luxury in MLS: A long week of training before a home game.
Because the Sounders played last Friday in Portland and don’t play until Sunday versus the LA Galaxy, the team has the benefit of a full training week, which provides for days off and allows for Coach Brian Schmetzer to focus on fixing problem areas.
“It’s a normal or long training week so it gives us a chance to work on a couple of things,” Schmetzer said after training Thursday. “We’re still gonna to work on defense a little bit.
