Florida’s offense struggled with Harris at the controls in the second half of the 2016 season, and the Gators scored just 24 total points in their season-ending three-game losing streak.
Harris started nine games in 2015 and threw for more than 200 yards just three times — in a season-opening win over New Mexico State, in a loss to LSU and in a win over South Carolina. He completed 50 percent or less of his passes in six starts; he was under 40 percent in the final two contests, losses to Alabama in the SEC championship game and to Michigan in the Citrus Bowl.
