FC Dallas hopes it can turn inconvenience into advantage Saturday.
When Oscar Pareja's men (1-0-0, 3 points) visit Sporting Kansas City (0-0-1, 1 point), it will be the third straight road trip they've taken. To add to the travel, FCD must turn around and play the first leg of a critical CONCACAF Champions League semifinal Wednesday in Frisco.
Yet after winning its MLS curtain raiser against the LA Galaxy last week, FCD has a chance to open the campaign by picking up six points on the road. That might not seem significant in March, but with the team looking to repeat as Supporters' Shield champions by getting more points in the regular season than any other team, a pair of road wins would be a superb start.
