In 2017, FC Dallas has undergone one of the great 2nd half of the season collapses in MLS history. The Supporters Shield winner from last season was in first place at the end of July but have won only 1 game in the last 14 for a total of 9 points out of 42 possible.
FCD has all but played themselves out of the playoffs. The Huntsmen are currently in 7th place on 43 points, the same points as 6th place San Jose who holds the tie breaker.
