Michael Barrios has signed a contract extension with FC Dallas through the 2019 season. The Colombian winger, currently leading MLS with 10 assists, has made 97 appearances across all competitions since joining from hometown club, Uniautnoma, in 2015.
In an interview with FCDallas.com, the 26-year-old thanked FC Dallas, and head coach Oscar Pareja, for the opportunity that was presented. One such opportunity being patience, as the radio voice of FC Dallas, Steve Davis, revealed in the Toyota Postgame Show on 100.7fm The Word. During the opening three months of Barrios' stay in Texas, the winger struggled to adapt to the change, falling behind Ryan Hollingshead and Tesho Akindele on the right wing depth chart.
