After the end of the 2017 season, a season that went down in flames, FC Dallas coaches and front office type personnel talked about changes to come. Phrases like "the end of the cycle" and "getting back to the FC Dallas way" were uttered. While that all sounds good it can sometimes be hard to know how that will translate in roster terms.
It turned out that fairly quickly for FCD it meant jettisoning of some older players, particularly on defense. Defenders Hernan Grana, Maynor Figueroa, Atiba Harris, and Walker Hume all had their 2018 options declined.
