This past week the 23rd annual Director's Cup standings were released, which show how competitive and successful collegiate athletic departments were during the course of the season that just ended. It's a ranking the Cougars could use this summer.

On one hand, they’re mere numbers and really can’t mean much. On the other hand, they are everything if you are Tom Holmoe and your job is to direct a BYU athletic department as an independent without conference affiliation.
